The Silence Beyond Eden

Image
The Silence Beyond Eden  The sky, dust-laden, wears the stains of ash, while restless souls gather pearls of eternity, yet their hunger remains unsatiated. Frontiers bleed, dreams crumble into ruins, and nameless children inherit an unknown Eden's ashes. Once, your footsteps consecrated the earth, your breath sanctified the wandering winds. Now, iron and fire dictate the fate of spring. Who taught the flowers to fear their blossoming? Perhaps the giants still play their ancient game, moving kingdoms across the chessboard of the earth, while pawns of flesh and blood vanish beneath their shadows. And you remain silent, beyond the ruins of paradise. Is your silence the final mystery of creation, or the permission through which the giants reign?

Blanche Monnier: The Unfinished Tale

Image
Blanche Monnier : The Unfinished Tale Grant me another life, Oh God, a life beyond this one, where I may meet my beloved again and tell the unfinished tale— a tale of love, a tale of pain, born within a darkened room, where straw became my bed and stale, rotting scraps my daily meal. There, I befriended insects, my only companions, while imprisoned in a living hell— all to preserve the hollow honour of pride, the vanity of custom, the  tyranny of convention. Oh God, grant me a freer life in another birth, that I may finally quench the thirst of my waiting heart. By  Goutam Roy

A Forgotten Society

Image
A Forgotten Society For centuries a forgotten society lay hidden beneath the earth, cut off from the living world. In the Las Gobas caves of Spain, a labyrinth of ancient stone, a troglodyte people sought refuge from hardship. Between the seventh and eleventh centuries, their days slowly withered in silent isolation. Severed from the wider world, their bloodline narrowed— a fragile thread of life strained by the want of diversity. Pigs were their humble sustenance, the caves their only sky. Centuries later, scholars studied their skulls and traced a shadow of death— the cruel mark of smallpox. These simple children of God still keep their silent identity in the graves of those caves. Mummies

Image
Mummies  Ages pass , yet the stoic stare of the mummies seems to ruminate on their past inthe safety of their sarcophagi  after a long and turbulent journey.  They lie in silent rest,  engrossed beside their Canopic chest  and the offerings meant for their after life , held in their ornamented coffins  as if bearing the message of their vanished world.  Some still carry the stigma of pain,  their mouth agape; some whisper of valour . A world of mystery has been composed in these silent forms- the mummies seem to speak among themselves,  trying to make known their hidden history  still buried beneath the pyramids.  By Goutam Roy
