The Silence Beyond Eden

Image
The Silence Beyond Eden  The sky, dust-laden, wears the stains of ash, while restless souls gather pearls of eternity, yet their hunger remains unsatiated. Frontiers bleed, dreams crumble into ruins, and nameless children inherit an unknown Eden's ashes. Once, your footsteps consecrated the earth, your breath sanctified the wandering winds. Now, iron and fire dictate the fate of spring. Who taught the flowers to fear their blossoming? Perhaps the giants still play their ancient game, moving kingdoms across the chessboard of the earth, while pawns of flesh and blood vanish beneath their shadows. And you remain silent, beyond the ruins of paradise. Is your silence the final mystery of creation, or the permission through which the giants reign?

From Behind

Image
From Behind Whispers drifted from the forest's depths, A sudden cackle widening the dark, Deepening the mystery Of an unseen presence Haunting the hilly path Beside the shadowed woods. At the sound of furtive gnawing, The wanderer turned back— A nameless horror breathing in silence. An uncanny echo Entered his heart And refused to leave. Sweat streamed from his brow, Soaking cloth and thought alike; Fear ripened into panic, And the mind trembled Within its own dark chamber. Then it came without warning— A sudden violence of air From behind his days. He stumbled. He fell. Blood blossomed From the fractured silence of his head, Spreading its crimson memory Into the dust. Mobile cops, bending Over a fallen hour, Lifted him away From the unfinished dark. By  Goutam Roy
