The Silence Beyond Eden

Image
The Silence Beyond Eden  The sky, dust-laden, wears the stains of ash, while restless souls gather pearls of eternity, yet their hunger remains unsatiated. Frontiers bleed, dreams crumble into ruins, and nameless children inherit an unknown Eden's ashes. Once, your footsteps consecrated the earth, your breath sanctified the wandering winds. Now, iron and fire dictate the fate of spring. Who taught the flowers to fear their blossoming? Perhaps the giants still play their ancient game, moving kingdoms across the chessboard of the earth, while pawns of flesh and blood vanish beneath their shadows. And you remain silent, beyond the ruins of paradise. Is your silence the final mystery of creation, or the permission through which the giants reign?

The Rain That Never Asks

Image
The Rain That Never Asks The rain returns from the ancient chambers of the sky, its once-bright radiance softened by eternity. Again and again it journeys toward the earth, as though bound by a promise older than memory. It falls without question, without longing, without a murmur of complaint— quietly entering the lives of fields, forests, rivers, and men. Beneath its silver descent, joy rises and sorrow disappears; lives bloom briefly, then wither into silence. The rain witnesses all, yet asks nothing of the fragile beings below. It simply gives— drop after drop, season after season. Perhaps this is the secret written into its nature: to serve without recognition, to nourish without reward, to return without expectation. And so the rain fulfils its ancient calling— a silent offering to creation, like the rarest of souls who give themselves to the world and ask nothing in return. By Goutam Roy

Iara- Mysterious Mermaid

Image
Iara — Mysterious Mermaid Iara dwells in the mysterious realm of the Amazon, where deep forests shadow the restless river and hidden currents whisper beneath the green. In her youth, trained in the art of the sword, she turned against her own kin and killed those who were near and dear. For this, she was condemned to death and cast into the river. Yet the river did not claim her. Its enchanted depths received her, and she rose again— transformed into a mermaid, with exquisite beauty and a voice more alluring than the moon upon the water. She sings to fishermen from the shadowed banks, drawing them nearer with her irresistible song. One by one, they vanish into the secret depths, carried to her hidden abode. No one can tell whether they are dead or still alive beneath the green waters. Perhaps beauty has thorns sharp enough to sting the hungry heart. Perhaps desire itself is a hidden predator, waiting to pierce the soul that willingly comes too close. Perhaps men, enchanted by the ...

Eternity's Play

Image
Eternity’s Play Perhaps, since the very birth of the Earth, the rock has borne its fractures— while obedient waves still return to strike against it. Two cormorants watch in quiet endurance, thoughtful, perhaps, as they await their moment to dive for food. They, too, play the ancient game— of effort and surrender, as we do. All unfolds in silence and mist, as though upon the first day of the Earth’s creation. The eternal process breathes on— unhurried, inexorable, in the eerie air of existence. By Goutam Roy

The Hummingbird

Image
The Hummingbird Suddenly, Laura turned and cried out with joy at the sound of chirping— a hummingbird hovering mysteriously above her head as she walked with her parents. The girl gleefully raised her hand, longing to touch its delicate wings. The bird fluttered down, settled softly upon her palm, and seemed to kiss her. Her parents stood still, moved by the sight. Laura looked at them and quietly said, “I have known this bird for many years.” Her parents stared at her, astonished and speechless. Laura smiled and whispered, “It was my dearest friend in a life before this one— we used to meet beneath the old trees in the park.” By Goutam Roy

Before the Silent Abyss

Image
Before the Silent Abyss If we listen to the song of seasons—  nature's timeless wisdom  woven into silent science—  our brief keepers of days  may find their hearts at peace,  their thirst gently quenched  by quiet contentment. Then the jewel of the cosmos  will shimmer with delight,  clothing tender blossoms  and fragile petals  with a fleeting radiance,  as though eternity smiled—  before the silent abyss  opened beyond the horizon. Abyss Ahead

Image
Abyss Ahead  If the song of seasons— nature's timeless science— is heard along the way, the keepers of fleeting days  may soothe their minds,  quenching their thirst  with quiet contentment  through their allotted time. Then the jewel of the cosmos  shall glitter with delight, adorning tender blossoms  and fragile petals for a little while, as though no abyss waited ahead. By Goutam Roy

Lost World

Image
Short Introduction:- Lost World reflects on the vanished civilizations that once flourished across the globe. Inspired by ancient cultures whose achievements survive in ruins, inscriptions, and myths, the poem explores how the legacy of the past continues to influence the present. Lost World They vanished from this earth, Leaving behind the imprint Of their rich yet Mysterious lives— Their dwellings buried Beneath the dust of ages, Their stories waiting To be unveiled. The echoes of their wisdom Still linger In weathered stones, Forgotten scripts, And silent monuments That defy oblivion. They departed, Leaving behind Their artifacts And the enduring essence Of their existence. Their hidden legacy, Flowing through the currents Of time, Continues to shape And safeguard humanity. Brief Interpretation:- The poem portrays lost civilizations as enduring presences rather than extinct societies. Though their cities may have fallen and their voices faded, their knowledge, creativity, and c...

Quest of Serenity

Image
Quest for Serenity In quest of shade, celestial wanderers fly here and there, seeking a moment's breath with hearts content, clutching desperately at the branches of trees. Yet their refuge seems but transient, for turbulence reigns everywhere, where death remains the principal plot of life's unfolding drama. By Goutam Roy

Unsatiated Hearts

Image
Short Introduction:- “Unsatiated Hearts” is a lyrical free-verse poem that explores the quiet ache of platonic longing and spiritual yearning. Through celestial imagery and meditative language, the poem reflects on hearts that seek transcendence yet remain unfulfilled within the boundaries of mortal existence.  Unsatiated Hearts If silent ardor couldn’t touch the whispered fire, The fragrance of heaven’s garden would still enrapture their hearts. They would wander toward eternity, embracing transcendence. Yet the mortal journey fades beneath indifferent stars, leaving the heart forever unsatiated. Short Interpretation:- The poem portrays a love that is deeply felt yet never fully attained. The “whispered fire” symbolizes restrained passion, while “heaven’s garden” suggests an idealized spiritual beauty beyond earthly reach. Though the souls wander toward eternity in search of transcendence, the indifferent stars and fading mortal journey reveal the inevitability of emotional incomp...

Starry Diamonds

Image
Starry Diamonds On the tips of tiny grasses, infinite dazzling stars descended from the cosmos to adorn her daughter for a fleeting while, then vanished with the rise of celestial fire. The withered keeper of dawn waits for the morning to adorn herself once more with those infinite starry diamonds, as frail transient souls await that luminous veil. By Goutam Roy
