The Silence Beyond Eden

Image
The Silence Beyond Eden  The sky, dust-laden, wears the stains of ash, while restless souls gather pearls of eternity, yet their hunger remains unsatiated. Frontiers bleed, dreams crumble into ruins, and nameless children inherit an unknown Eden's ashes. Once, your footsteps consecrated the earth, your breath sanctified the wandering winds. Now, iron and fire dictate the fate of spring. Who taught the flowers to fear their blossoming? Perhaps the giants still play their ancient game, moving kingdoms across the chessboard of the earth, while pawns of flesh and blood vanish beneath their shadows. And you remain silent, beyond the ruins of paradise. Is your silence the final mystery of creation, or the permission through which the giants reign?

Helpless Master and the Pet Cat

Helpless Master and the Pet Cat

At lunchtime she pads in,

tail flicking—a tiny flag of demand.

The master, already weary

of her inscrutable moods,

lifts his eyes with a sigh.

A strict non-vegetarian queen,

she sniffs the vegetable day

as if the whole house

has betrayed her appetite—

yet still she mews

for something she cannot name.

Annoyed, he yields:

two or three biscuits offered

like a peace treaty

to a monarch in a foul temper.

She glares back,

eyes bright with royal disbelief—

as though he, not she,

is the unreasonable one.

And in the doorway

the dog watches everything,

quiet as a monk,

studying the helpless master

serving the small empire of pets.
