The Silence Beyond Eden

Image
The Silence Beyond Eden  The sky, dust-laden, wears the stains of ash, while restless souls gather pearls of eternity, yet their hunger remains unsatiated. Frontiers bleed, dreams crumble into ruins, and nameless children inherit an unknown Eden's ashes. Once, your footsteps consecrated the earth, your breath sanctified the wandering winds. Now, iron and fire dictate the fate of spring. Who taught the flowers to fear their blossoming? Perhaps the giants still play their ancient game, moving kingdoms across the chessboard of the earth, while pawns of flesh and blood vanish beneath their shadows. And you remain silent, beyond the ruins of paradise. Is your silence the final mystery of creation, or the permission through which the giants reign?

The Devil of the Sea

 The Devil of the Sea

Suddenly, a whisper rose

from somewhere behind

in the dead of night.

Tammas turned.

Before him stood

a monstrous creature—

a horse-like body

bearing upon its back

a dreadful human form.

It roared:

“I am the Nuckelavee!”

Stretching its long arm

towards him.

Tammas froze in terror.

Then he ran.

Behind him thundered

the monstrous hooves

of the Nuckelavee.

Closer and closer

the creature came.

Tammas felt

death drawing near.

But fortune remained with him.

Ahead, he saw

a stream of fresh water.

With the last strength

left in his body,

he leapt across.

The monster stopped

at the water's edge.

It could come no farther.

Then, slowly,

the dreadful creature vanished

into the darkness,

and the first light

of morning

touched the sky.
